Closing Early On September 23rd...

Hey y'all, are you enjoying the cooler weather?!  We will be closing early on Tuesday, September 23rd at 4 pm, due to an off site company event.  

Here's a taste of fall color to get you excited! Several trees in the nursery are starting to turn colors!

If we don't see you by 4 pm next Tuesday we'll see you bright and early on Wednesday the 24rd at 7 am!

Welcome to Ranchito! (Our growing facility)

Did you know that we had a growing facility down the road from our store?  Well, if you didn't we're going to shed some light on it today!  The last couple years we have been working hard at expanding the space we have by adding production beds and hoop houses.  Below are some examples of the construction that has been happening!

Weed mat is laid down first before they insert stakes, then the irrigation is set up on the bed.

 In order to stablize the frames, end walls are installed.  Which also prove to be beneficial during the winter to protect the plant material.

Shade clothes used to protect the more sun sensitive plant material.

New construction underway for this fall, as we plan to build three new hoop houses and beds. 

Don't forget we carry Phat Kat Topsoil and compost in bulk!

I'm sure you've noticed the leaves changing, so that's our queue to announce our Fall hours have returned. As a reminder, we are open later during the week and are once again open on Saturdays as of September 1st! Here are the updated hours:

Hey y'all, KAT Nurseries will be starting our summer hours as of June 30th; week day hours will be from 7 am- 4 pm.  This Saturday, June 28th, will be the last Saturday open until after Labor Day.  In addition to those hours we are closing early on July 3rd at 3 pm.

We still are receiving in fresh stock on a regular basis, but if you have an order that you have coming in the near future with unique plant material or large numbers, send those orders to us as soon as possible.  We are better able to serve you, especially this time of year, if we can bring in stock that meets your needs in a timely fashion.   Please call in at 913-856-5288 for availability or you can check our live availability online.  With our updated website, you can easily register to see pricing and quantities.  Click here to login or register.  Once registered, you can access and create orders with ease.  Please call in if you run into any problems.

Spring has Sprung!!!

Spring is a time for change and growth for all of us, and KAT Nurseries is no exception.  Our plant material, hard goods, and services we offer are second to none.  Additionally,  our Just-In-Time Delivery Service is geared to help you save time and money. The logistics department has a wide array of equipment at its disposal to help you get the product you need, when you need it.  No matter how large or small a job, KAT has delivery equipment to fit the need.

One exciting new service KAT is offering is our KAT Box.  The KAT Box is a unique delivery vessel that allows us to load two different media (soil, mulch, compost, rock) in the same container. Add shrubs, trees, perennials, and hard goods and you have a complete landscape job in one convenient box. Our hook truck can deliver it to your job site where a large gate and side door allow room for machinery to help make unloading quick and easy. We also provide a flatbed seen below that can be dropped at the site. Once empty, the box can be filled with the organic waste materials from the jobsite and hauled away for disposal by KAT.

Another exciting development at KAT Nurseries is the addition of rock and block to our product lines. We have just completed construction of our hardscape display, and pallets of rock are at the nursery ready for pick-up. Our experts can help make a plan for what materials you need to get your hardscape job done quickly and correctly.

In addition to shipping lots of landscape materials, we are also in the process of fully stocking the nursery. Truckloads are rolling in daily from our tree farm along with other various vendors throughout the country with freshly dug trees, shrubs and containers.  For the first time, KAT will be stocking flats of annuals which can be pre-ordered now.  We have also begun planting shrubs, perennials, and grasses at our Ranchito production site. Growing our own product allows us to control the quality and availability of plant material.
